The Shift is a monthly gathering for Black creatives who want more than visibility. It is a space to show up honestly, exchange insight, and examine how we move through our work and our industry.

Created under Black Creatives, The Shift focuses on community and education, and centers conversation around lived experiences.

Each month we explore the keys to creativity and community, recognizing that when we change what we bring into the room, we change what becomes possible.

Seats are intentionally limited to keep the experience focused and meaningful. Join us and be part of the shift.

Second Wednesdays
The Len | 6:30pm

Registration opens one week before each Shift.
Our Next Shift: Wednesday, July 15

Who The Shift Is For | The Shift is for anyone who sees themselves as a creative and is seeking meaningful community. We center those working in creative industries and those who collaborate alongside us, but this space is open to all who value creativity, growth, and shared learning.

What to Expect | Each Shift is intentionally designed to be intimate and participatory. You can expect thoughtful conversation, honest reflection, and practical insight you can carry back into your work. More than anything, you can expect to be in a room where you are not the only one navigating this journey. You will leave with new tools, new perspective, and stronger connection.

JUNE 2026

theShift + Return
The conversations continue.

This month, we are talking about Ability.

As Black creatives, we are often expected to push through. To figure it out quietly. To navigate our work, our industries, and our lives without ever naming the ways our minds and bodies require something different. The accommodations we have had to ask for. The adjustments we have had to make. The systems that were never designed with us in mind.

But some of us have found another way to look at it.

theShift + Ability creates space for an honest conversation about navigating creativity when your mind or body works a little differently… and what happens when you stop seeing your limitations as obstacles and start seeing them as part of the shortcut.

Every voice belongs here. Whether this is your first theShift or you have been with us from the beginning, there is a seat at the table and a place in this conversation.

Doors open at 6:30pm.
The Shift begins at 7:00pm.
Seats are limited.
