Created under Black Creatives, The Shift focuses on community and education, and centers conversation around lived experiences.
Each month we explore the keys to creativity and community, recognizing that when we change what we bring into the room, we change what becomes possible.

Who The Shift Is For | The Shift is for anyone who sees themselves as a creative and is seeking meaningful community. We center those working in creative industries and those who collaborate alongside us, but this space is open to all who value creativity, growth, and shared learning.
What to Expect | Each Shift is intentionally designed to be intimate and participatory. You can expect thoughtful conversation, honest reflection, and practical insight you can carry back into your work. More than anything, you can expect to be in a room where you are not the only one navigating this journey. You will leave with new tools, new perspective, and stronger connection.

For October, we are talking about the Pivot.
Not the version that looks clean in hindsight. The real one. The moment you realized something had to change, the decision that felt like a risk, and the path forward that did not always look like progress until it did.
This month's speakers are Mika-Taché St. Fleur, founder of Saint MGMT, and Josh Epperson, museum exhibition writer, activist, and brand strategist. Two creatives who have navigated pivots that shaped not just their careers but their sense of self, and have something honest to say about what that journey actually looks like.
